10 Days to Go - Testing the Tracker

Weekend Rules!

Its 29 Aug and we have 10 days to - but its the weekend and there is an 'embargo' on Tour Planning/ blogging/Tweeting - I'm told!  Its family time, on Saturday and then a healthy day, on Sunday, with a  bike ride, beside the Thames!   This gave me a chance to proved the functioning of our 'Tracking Service'.

Saturday

This 'plot' for Saturday - see us head down the M4 for a family lunch!  It the resolution is good enough, you might see how we stopped at Costco (Nr Reading) and then Chieveley Services for a 'rapid charge'.  Coming back we stopped only very briefly (at Reading Services) - taking only enough charge to get home!

Wokingham - Swindon
Sunday

Today's outing was more of an experiment.   The tracker was working from home to Staines - but in theory should have stopped, when the car was switched off.  However, I had a suspicion that the gadget would still be radiating.  Sure enough our transponder continued to broadcast our position 3-4 hours after it was unplugged!  So that is a feature we didn't previously appreciate.  If our car was to be stolen and trucked (rather than driven) - then precise positioning would continue to be available.

Bike Ride - Staines - Chertsey
P.S. Apologies if the resolution is not perfect; however, my technique is a bit improvised.  The Ipad does a screen capture and that can be e-mailed and then downloaded for the blog.  No doubt there is a better way with higher resolution - I just need inspiration!
