Day 2 - CENEX LCV EXHIBITION

Overview

What an epic day at CENEX Low Carbon Vehicle Exhibition 2014.   Undoubtedly bigger and better than 2013!   There was no shortage of EVs, Hybrids and Fuel Cell vehicles - most available for test drive.  From small cars, through vans, buses and (for the first time) trucks were 'on show'!

CENEX has become the UK's premier low carbon vehicle event.  It attracts:

  • All the major industrial manufactures of vehicles and components;
  • All the major service providers, who enable the infrastructure and enable a range of supper services;
  • UK Govt is particularly well represented, including: Office for Low Emission Vehicle Vehicles, UK Trade and Investment, Dept for Business Information and Skills and the Technology Strategy Board;
  • Academia - at least a dozen universities were represented, in what was billed a the "University Showcase'!
  • Research Organisation - such as MIRA;
  • Others - representing related industries and organisations.

Of course it a misnomer to describe CENEX as an exhibition, as it has several dimensions, including

  • Exhibition Stands layer out in two separate halls;
  • A seminar Programme
  • Static Exhibits in an arena;
  • Self-drive and Demo-Drive vehicles - with access to the MIRA track;
  • A networking dinner.
